During Khmer Rouge era, more than 2 million innocent people were killed. Almost four decades later, the Cambodian people are now facing unimaginable illegal loggings and deforesting throughout the country.
Most of mountains are practically bare with no trees, giving the appearance of a bald head.
This will further accelerate drought and lack of water that all Cambodians are experiencing now.
Karuna Cambodia in cooperation with monks, teachers, villagers and volunteer’s students had dedicated to plant trees at Wats or at schools.
On September 1, 2013, under leadership of Venerable Oeurn Sam Art and with the help from volunteers ( 97 monks and youths coming from Preah Sihanouk Raja Buddhist Universities and from other universities, companies, and NGOs ), we plant 500 trees within three places:
2)Kandol primary school
3)and Ponleur Vichea secondary school ( Kandol secondary school)
All these places located in Kandol village, Kandol commune, Hoh Kong Province.
